The 2023 Brisbane Cycling Festival is gearing up! King St as the presenting partner, is proud to host a range of events on our doorstep! Catch all the action right here.

Brisbane Cycling Festival, Australia’s largest multi-disciplinary cycling event returns over four big weeks delivering an action-packed month of events, races, rides, expo’s and more.

With the full program to be released in the new year the Brisbane Cycling Festival presented by King St has announced that the festival will return from 15 March – April 16 2023.

The citywide celebration of all things cycling will come together at the Brisbane Showgrounds and across the adjacent King St precinct over the Festival Village weekend from 31 March – April 2.

The line-up for this year is already shaping up to be pretty epic with the return of the Australian Unity Tour de Brisbane, AusCycling Track National Championships across Junior, Elite & Under 19, Para and Masters, Festival Village, Active Lifestyle Expo plus the Oceania Combined Cycling Championships across BMX Freestyle, BMX Racing, Mountain Bike Down Hill, Mountain Bike Cross Country (XCO), Road and Track.

From the elite right through to mass participation events there is something for every cyclist of all abilities.

While the program is packed with a variety of events, here are our top picks for getting involved along King St and surrounds!

 

The Human Race  |  King St  |  Fri 31 March, 3pm - 5pm

RUN, ROLL, WALK OR SWIM 26KM IN MARCH! GRAB YOUR BIKE AND GET YOUR 26 KM'S IN FRIDAY 31ST MARCH ON KING ST ON A CLOSED CIRCUIT.

This year marks the Australian Red Cross’s launch of its new fundraising initiative, the Human Race.

The campaign is open to people of all ages and abilities, and the Australian Red Cross is challenging participants to run, walk, swim or CYCLE 26km during March.

In doing so the Australian Red Cross is showing its commitment to the resilience and wellbeing of all 26 million people living in Australia.

During this year’s Brisbane Cycling Festival, on Friday 31 March, King Street in Bowen Hills will be filled with cycling fans, music, food, drinks and bike racing.

There will be an amazing festival atmosphere and the Human Race participants will have a unique on-road opportunity to ride their 26 km on the closed circuit that will be used for the Queensland Elite Criterium Championship later in the evening.

Ready to test your speed in an intense fast paced Criterium around the King Street precinct?

Then get ready for the King Street Kick It Crit! Race your competition and the clock through the 900 metre course in in the heart of Fortitude Valley.

As part of this year’s Brisbane Cycling Festival, King Street will be filled with cycling fans, music and racing, creating an amazing atmosphere under lights.

Active Lifestyle Expo  |  Brisbane Showgrounds  |  Fri 31 March - Sun 2 April, 12pm


The Active Lifestyle Expo is a health and wellness event showcasing the industry’s leading vendors.

With over 110km* of fully closed city roads and based at the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Australian Unity Tour de Brisbane is the one ride you don’t want to miss!

There’s multiple rides to get you moving with distances and challenges for everyone.

Whether you’re going for a pedal with the fam or going for the podium, there’s a ride or race for you.​

In 2023, the Australian Unity Tour de Brisbane aims to raise over 5,600 hours of medical research for organ transplant, heart disease, lung disease, dementia and mental health.

These are conditions that will affect 90% of us in our lifetime. If every rider fundraised just one hour (just $44), they will raise over $250,000 and power life-changing medical research for our friends, family, colleagues and community.
